The CENTER of God’s Will November 19, 2007

Posted by Han in : Relationship with God , trackback

How much do you know about the bible? Let us do a little bit of mathematic and calculation. I need you take out your bible. It’s going to be interesting!

Do you know which is the shortest chapter in the Bible? The answer is Psalm 117.

What about the longest chapter in the Bible? The answer is Psalm 119.

Which chapter then is at the center of the Bible? The answer is Psalm 118.

The fact is (if you calculate) there are 594 chapters before Psalms 118. And there are also 594 chapters after Psalms 118. If you add these numbers up, you will get 1188.

Now, what is the center verse in the Bible? The answer is Psalm 118:8.

Psalms 118:8 (NKJV) “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”

Now isn’t that odd how this worked out (or was God in the center of it)?

What does this exercise tells us? In short, if you want to be in the center of God’s will, you need to trust in the Lord and do not put your confident in man (not even yourself). Look at another bible verses, Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NKJV).

Thus says the Lord:

“Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.”

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”

If you do not know the exact will of God but yet you put your trust in the Lord, I am sure He will direct your path and make your life successful, fruitful and abundant. But the condition is you must trust in the Lord, do not depend on man.

P.S. - The next time someone says they would like to find God’s perfect will for their lives and that they want to be in the center of His will, just send them to the center of His Word!

Yes, the Word of God is like a treasure. If we spend enough time reading and meditating, we will receive many revelations from it. These revelations are able to save our lives, help make the right decision and avoid financial losses.

Only if we spend enough time to search the treasure within…
