Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the dessert and streams in the wasteland. Isaiah 43:18-19

There were many occasions in the bible people were left amazed or in awe after witnessing Jesus performed a miracle.

“What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” The disciples were amazed at what Jesus had done, rebuking a furious storm that swept over their boat without warning. How can that be? The winds and the waves were at his command.

“Get up, take your mat and go home.” These words produce healing power that goes straight into the ears of a paralytic into his body and reaches to both his legs. Muscles were strengthened, joints were in place, nerves were back to senses, and the paralytic got up and walked!

It was instant! I mean immediately. When the crowd saw what Jesus did, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to men.

Another occasion, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said. “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”

Next, on account of Jesus walks on the water, the disciples were left in awe. They got down and worship him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.” It’s beyond our imagination, how can a man walk on water?

When Jesus was hungry and saw that a fig tree by the road but found nothing on it except leaves, he cursed the fig tree, “May you never bear fruit again!” Immediately the tree withered. The disciples saw this, they were amazed. “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” they asked.

Imagine if you were there on these occasions, I believe you will be amazed as well. How could this happen? How did the healing taken place? How can Jesus walk on the water? Never, I have not witness such thing, nothing like this has ever happened.

Yes, this is the God whom we believe in. He specialized in all the impossible. Nothing is too difficult for him accomplish. There is no ‘NO’ in God. With God everything is ‘YES’ and ‘AMEN’. We must expect the unexpected.

Do not create boundary for God. We must think out of the box in regards to God’s work. We cannot limit him with our limited wisdom, knowledge and intelligence. Simply put your 5 loaves and 2 fishes in the hand of God and see the miracle of multiplication.

It may not be possible for us but for God, everything is possible. Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, of you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Recently, I have heard a few testimonies in my church which left me wrote this article – Expect the unexpected.

First, a brother who took up a challenge to offer to God a sum of money and within one month one of his friends came to look for him. His friend felt the prompting and passed him an envelope. To his surprise it was more than what he had offered initially.

Second, it was a sister who was scheduled to undergo an operation. She was supposed to remove a growth in her womb. But she didn’t need to because the growth automatically came out by itself when she went to the toilet. And the doctor confirmed that the growth had disappeared and he did not see such thing happened before.

Third, due to some family’s reason, a sister needed to sell her house in another state. She went and to her amazement, someone walked pass by her house and decided to buy. Huh! Just like that, walked pass and decided to buy! It is just like window shopping.

Friends, let us expect the unexpected. God can do beyond our imagination. Let us not limit him. Let’s hand our 5 loaves and 2 fishes to God and see the miracle take place, amen.
