I want to encourage you to get the 40-day fast and prayer booklet by NECF. Inside the booklet there is a guide on what to pray for the 40 days. If you follow through the guide I am very sure you will cover all aspects for Malaysia.

If you do not have the booklet, it’s alright, and I’ve taken from the booklet some of the key points to pray for Malaysia:

A) The Government

1) Good and righteous governance. Prioritize public interests without fear or favor.
2) Greater accountability and wiser management of funds.
3) Transparent and effective government projects that benefit all citizens regardless pf ethnic/religious backgrounds.
4) Improvement in the country’s economy and greater job opportunities.
5) Authorities and public to uphold religious freedom for everyone, and respect the Federal constitution as the supreme law of the land.
6) All efforts to combat drug abuse among the youth and successful rehabilitation programs.
7) Against the spiritual forces behind extremism, all kinds of crime and immorality.
8) Strengthen the police force in maintaining law and order.

B) The people

1) Pray for the different ethnic groups; Malays, Chinese, Indian and the indigenous communities to be prosperous and successful.
2) To live in peace and harmony among the different ethnic groups.
3) To achieve unity among the people – Bangsa Malaysia.

C) The Church

1) Recognize and constantly be reminded that Christ is the head of the Church.
2) Remain passionate about Christ, to be loyal and to endure to “the end”.
3) Demonstrate Christ-like attributes, glorify God and draw mankind back to Him.
4) Church leaders: men and women of character and spiritual maturity, with sense of destiny and a sacrificial spirit, passionate about life’s calling with tenacity to finish the race. Wisdom and discernment in structuring church administration that best complements the ministries.

D) Christians

1) Christians to genuinely love their neighbours with no string attached.
2) Christians to be wise and have understanding, showing good deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
3) Christians to get rid of selfish ambition and arrogance, if any.
4) Christians to be peacemakers, sowing seed of righteousness in peace.
