You have what its take! January 30, 2008

Believe me you have what its take to be somebody great and successfully. You can be that “somebody” who impact and influence your world. However if you take a look in the mirror, from top to bottom, left to right, up and down, front to back, no way you can see yourself as a history maker, someone that can change the world right?
Yes, this is what happened to Moses. After living in the wilderness for 40 years, no way he can see himself as someone who can lead the entire Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt. He dare not think of it even!
God said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering…So now, go. I am sending you (Moses) to Pharoah to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”
“Huh! Me… (Moses)! Leading the people out of Egypt?”, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”, “What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, ‘The LORD did not appear to you’?”, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue”, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.”
I can imagine Moses scratching his head with many doubts and unbelief! Even though Moses may feel and think he has nothing to achieve such a great feat but in the eyes of God Moses has what its take to deliver the people.
Gideon lamented the same, “How can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” But God answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites together.”
Many of us are like Moses and Gideon often think we are unable to achieve anything in life. Look at my background, I don’t have the education, I don’t have the money, I don’t have the necessary contact, I don’t have the luck, I am not handsome/pretty, I am not smart, I am not eloquent, I am not confident, I am inferior, I am useless, basically I have nothing to make it happen!
But wait a minute; God says you have what its take. Let me repeat again, you have what its take. You may not have all the things needed to accomplish great things but you have GOD, and that is enough! You have GOD inside of you.
During the time of Pentecost (in Acts 4), people were astonished at what Peter and John did. They came to realized that both were unschooled and ordinary men. Unschooled and ordinary….what can they do? In the eyes of man, they can’t do anything; they do not have what its take to accomplish big.
But interestingly they noted that they were with Jesus. Yes, both Peter and John were with Jesus. That makes the difference! When Christ is inside, we can make a difference, we can think big, dream big and accomplish big! Amen!
What about David? A shepherd boy, small built, having only 5 stones and a sling but managed to kill Goliath. Outwardly he seems to have nothing, but inwardly he has the almighty God.
“You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you defied. This day the Lord will hand you over to me, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head.”
And these stones sank into Goliath’s forehead and he fell facedown on the ground and the rest is history.
So, the key here is we have God. God is on our side. The Power within can substitute all our shortcomings, weaknesses, past failures and setback. If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
So what is the problem? We are often influence by our background, pass failure, setback and unpleasant words. We have this internal voice that is playing in our mind - we can’t do anything! We are amount to nothing! Look at the time, money, energy and effort wasted!
These destructive negative words often linger in our mind. Like poison, it travels through our blood stream and circulates to every part of our body. Like a virus, it disables all the programs in the computer. We need to replace such words with the positive word of God.
You can achieve great thing NOT because of what you have externally, materially or outwardly but because of what you have internally, the supernatural power of God, the word of God, the favor of God, the protection of God, the blessing of God, the wisdom and revelation of God, yes, you have God himself of you. That is why…
You have what its take to make the difference. You have what its take!
