Quick test, want to try? June 14, 2007

I would like you to take a quick test on the below to prove one point – in every given situation, there is always 2 perspectives, 2 different ways of looking at it.

Old Woman…Or Young Girl?

Man Playing Horn… Or Woman Sillhouette?

Two Faces… Or One?

A Rabbit…. Or A Duck?

A Face Of A Native American… Or An Eskimo?

Is The Book Looking Towards You… Or Away From You?

BookFace

This is a simple but yet important test. Many a times we are in a dark situation that we failed to see the light. We are too captivated by the problem that we forgotten God is beside us. We think that the situation is bad; no one is able to help, and we are going to die but in the actual fact, it is not! It is only a matter of perception, how you look at it.

I cannot deny that your situation is true, your problem is real, your condition is terrible and your circumstances is beyond help but I want to encourage you to take a look from the other side, another angle, switch over or cross over! Stand in the position of God. With the help of God, take a good look at the whole situation again. If nothing changes, its ok, just be patient. One thing for sure is that God is beside you. If you are able to recognize this, God will begin to take charge and turn the situation upside down!

Positive or negative, pessimistic or optimistic, giving thanks or complaining, good or bad, problem or opportunity, stumbling block or stepping stone, it is all in the mind. You choose how you want to look at it!

Hi Lynnwei, I’m inspired by what you wrote - the eyes of God. Truly, thru the eyes of God, the blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached. Unfortunately, thru our eyes, what can we see? Darkness, lifeless, hopelessness, gloomy, bad and negative.

Personally, as I am writing this, my own daugther is pretty sick - fever, lung infection and slight pneumonia. Need to bring her for injection for 5 days. As parents, you can’t bear to see the pain she is going thru. And times like this, we are very much consumed by the whole incident. So it is very important to stay focus on God, seeing things in the eyes of God. I know God will heal, she will get well, healthy, active and running about. Amen.

Yup, we’re always short sighted & never able to see far beyond what’s just in front of us. I’m sure from your daughter’s experience there’s much to gain especially as a new parent. Praise God for the doctor’s hands who is treating her. Praise God that now you’ve learned to be more sensitive when she’s not well & be equipped with the basic medical instruments & supplies at home, praise God for the 5 days where you had the opportunity to give all your attention to her & got much closer & etc,…Right, we all have to learn to look at God who happened also to be in charge of all our circumstances.

Praise God! My daughter is well now. Like any other parents, when through a lot of anxiety, worry and fear. But thanks be to God, it is all over now.

Many thanks to my pastor (& LV) and church’s brothers and sisters who prayed. Many thanks also to my brother (Keith) who rallied his church’s members to prayed. And not forgetting my sister and bro-in-law also.

With these much of prayer supports have kept my wife and myself to stay focus on God.
