Nothing Is Impossible With God February 9, 2010

For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37
“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” Jeremiah 32:27
I would like to share with you the good news. God is capable of turning your situation upside down. God can turn your sad story around. God is able to produce something out of nothing. God specializes in bringing good out of the bad. God can turn your stumbling block into stepping stone. God can make your zero into hero! Yes, nothing is impossible with God.
In God’s vocabulary there is no lack, impossible, limited, restricted or cannot be done! These terms are only found in human brain which I think it is correct. Men are very limited. What can a man do with their limited strength and capability? We can’t even tell what’s going to happen tomorrow! Therefore I urge you to believe – nothing is impossible with God.
If you truly believe in your heart despite of your current situation, you are heading to a good start. Your situation may not change (yet) and things are still looking gloomy but no worries, God is control. God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in way you cannot see, He will make a way, He will make a way.
With such a mindset, I am sure you are in a better position to confront your problem. You are now aware that God is behind you. Previously you were hopeless, intimidated and defeated. But now you can raise your head up high and say to your problem, “Problem, nothing is too hard for God, nothing is impossible with God”.
You may hear all sort of negative voices but don’t be affected. Things may not work out yet but don’t be discouraged. Continue to trust and believe. Confess it out loud – “Nothing is impossible with God! Nothing is impossible with God!” Take courage my friend; it will not be too long for God to turn everything in favor of you.
Can I be healed? Can I break my addiction? Can my broken marriage be restored? Can my rebellious children turn good? Can my business survive? Can I be debt free? Can I avoid bankruptcy? Can I be a billionaire? Can I be the president of my country?
Yes, the answer is yes! For nothing is impossible with God.

So much for the greatness of god. Now what about the Haitian ? Why does god allow the Haitian to suffer ? Can you enlighten me on what is god’s purpose.
Hi YongCK, thanks for your comments. God did not forget the Haitan too. See email received from a Christian Organization.

Update February 9, 2010
We are continuing to feed 10,000 Haitian regularly!
We have treated over 6,000 people in the clinic!
We have prayed for 150 people in the clinic to be born again!
Our evangelism teams are going out regularly. Yesterday and today, they saw 272 people receive Jesus Christ as their personal Savior! Tomorrow morning, 20 new believers will meet for encouragement and training in God’s Word.
You probably heard on the news about the 28-year-old rice vendor who survived under the rubble for 27 days. He was malnourished and dehydrated but had no serious injuries. He told the doctors that someone “in a white coat” brought him water while he was pinned down… Angels have been dispatched on behalf of these Haitian people!
Today a mobile team went out house to house to see if anyone needed medical care. They heard this story: A 5-year-old boy was trapped under the rubble of his house for three days. His mother asked if he was scared. He said, “No! An old man came every day and brought me food and water and crackers!” When they dug the young boy out, he wanted to go back and find his friend, the old man. The rescue workers kept digging and found nobody, no old man! Angels on assignment!
The team found a big camp of about 1500 people. It was here, they heard this testimony from a Mother with a little girl, Alexandra, 3-l/2 years old. The day of the earthquake, Alexandra was dug out of the debris. A cement block had fallen on her head; her head was wide open. You could see her skull. She passed away. They put a tag number on her and threw her on the pile of dead bodies. Her mother said, “I won’t accept that!” She took the tag off and laid it on her Bible and said, “Jesus, I won’t accept this. I have two babies and I won’t let one of them die!” The neighbors teased her and said, ‘Why did you never pray like that before?” She said, “Shut up! I won’t listen to you when I have to use my faith. Nobody can stop me!” Five minutes later, the baby coughed and came alive! The team wept today as they held her in their arms!
Our God is an awesome God. He reigns from heaven above… It is clear to see that He has great plans for this little island in the Caribbean.

Why does God allow suffering?
You may want to read this for further understanding….

So god directed the whole show so that handful of survivors can come up with fantastic or fairy tale type stories and of course not suprisingly from christian orgnisations. To the thousands that perished in this natural calamity there must be god condemned
Hi YongCK, thanks for your comments.
God is good. God need not use such a way to cook up all the fairy tales as what you said. However with such happening - love, care and help can be rendered to them.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. (James 1:17).
Therefore natural disaster like earthquake, tsunami and flood does not comes from God.
I sense there is a deep dissatisfaction, dissapointment or even anger in you towards God. It’s ok but God still loves you.
I pray that you may experience His loving grace. May God open both your eyes to see His beauty. Amen.
I am not dissatisfied or disappointed at something non-existing. I only marvel at the naivety and bigotry of believers.
Five thousand of Chinese history proves the non-existence of god. When the great chinese sage Confucius was teaching ‘ ren ‘( human-heartedness, benevolence, love etc,. ) Jesus was not even borned yet.
Since christians like to quote from the bible, let me also quote what the famous author Richard Dawkins say about the bible. ” There are two ways in which scripture might be a source ofmorals or rules for living. One is by direct instruction, for example through the Ten Commandments, which are the subject of such bitter contention in the culture wars of America’s boondocks. The other is by example:god, or some other biblical character might serve as role model. Both scripture routes, if followed through religiously, encourage a system of morals which any civilized modern person, whether religious or not, would find - I can put it no more gently as - obnoxious.
To be fair, much of the bible is not systematically evil but just plain weird, as you would expect of a chaotically cobbled-together anthology of disjointed documents, composed, revised, translated, distorted and
‘ improve’ by hundred of anonymous authors, editors and copyists, unknown to us and mostly unknown to each other, spanning nine centuries. “. This may explain some of the sheer stangeness of the bible. But unfortunately it is this same weird volume that religious zealots hold up to us as the inerrant source of our morals and rules for living. Those who wish to base their morality literally on the bible have either not read it or not understood it, as Bishop Jhon Shelby Spong, in The Sins of Scripture, rightly observed.
Hi YongCK,
1 Corinthians 1: 18-25 rightly pointed out your condition:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.
For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
Yes, our belief may sound “foolish” or “naive” but in Christ we experience the love and grace of God. What separate you and Christian is “experience”. For without “experience”, you will find it hard to comprehend God. How can our “limited” mind understand God?
No point proving to you the existence of God even though the entire creation clearly pointing us a deliberate Designer. If a person opposes even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained away. It is like if someone refuses to believe that people have walked on the moon, then no amount of information is going to change their thinking. Photographs of astronauts walking on the moon, interviews with the astronauts, moon rocks…all the evidence would be worthless, because the person has already concluded that people cannot go to the moon.
2 Corinthians 4:4 echoes accurately:
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Honestly, in much of your readings you may only “prove” to yourself the non-existence of God but that will definitely NOT deter Christians from experiencing the goodness of God.
At the end of the day you are just trying to talk yourself into NOT believing in God but deep down in your heart there leave a large vacuum where only God can fill. The truth is the more you try to talk down the Bible, God and Jesus, the bigger the vacuum is going to be!
But God is gracious; I pray that He will open both your eyes to His reality, power, love and saving grace, amen.
Btw, Genesis 1:1, in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. This is even before the creation of mankind. This is way before the Chinese history!
People walking on moon I believe it as I can see it with my own eyes on TV screen and in the newspaper print when the astronut returned to earth. But god create this world even before the creation of mankind, who withness it and to whom god had assinged this information.
Talking about christian experience, the famous author, a former catholic nun had this to say ” what little religious experience I had, had somehow been manufactured by myself as I worked upon my own feeling and imagination. Sometimes a sense of devotion was an aesthetic response to the beauty of Gregorian chant and the liturgy. I never glimpsed the god described by the prophets and the mystics. Jesus Christ, about whom we talked far more than about ‘ God ‘ seem a purely historical figure, inextricably embedded in late antiquity.
Any way the god you deem so powerful is just impotent to me as he is powerless in front of human suffering and tragedy but could only serve as a tool in answering to those petty demand of the selfish make believer. Even that I wonder how many time your prayer are answered. So keep praying hard.
Hi YongCK,
It is a pity if your life is influenced by this narrowed view of a catholic nun. To me, her life does not equal to “God is non-existence”. How can one person’s experience determine everything, what more on God? There are millions who had experienced the power and great love of God. My suggestion - read more Christian biography books. Imagine, if all the books you read is about “God is non-existence”….of course your mind will be shaped in that way. Why not read more on Christian books? Then you would have both views and are in a better position to see.
How many time my prayer answered? I would not say everyday but through out my Christian walk (since 1989), God has been faithful guiding my family, marriage, children and career. There are many experiences I know it must be God, there is no way man can turn the situation around. At times, God is silent to my prayer and I know the answer is “no”. Till today I never regret believing in God as He proved to be faithful and true.
You are a very knowledgeable and intelligent man. Instead of trying to talk down on God, why not go and find out why people are experiencing God…and you are not!
Yes, I am praying very hard. I am praying…one day, one day you would recognize how small, how fragile and how limited you are and God (no one else) would be the only answer to your life.
