Trust March 21, 2007

Trusting the Lord is not a simple task especially everything is going against us. Joseph went through such a dilemma. He had great dreams but he was sold by his brothers to Egypt. He was sent to prison over false accusation. While in prison, he interpreted accurately the dream of both chief cupbearer and chief baker but unfortunately the chief cupbearer forgotten about him after Pharoah restored his position.
How can we trust the Lord when everything is going the opposite direction? The only solution is NOT to rely on our own understanding, our own way and our own selves. Though verbally we may be saying “we trust in the Lord” but deep down in our heart we are still trying to work things out. What actually is needed is a deep sense of trust – trust in the Lord.
Trust that He is in control. Trust that He will take care of everything. The actual problem is the more we think, the more difficult it is for God to work. We cannot ask God to work in our own way. We cannot confine God to the size of our brain. Look at Joseph, at the end he became the Prime Minister of Egypt. Therefore, trust in the Lord. Trust does not require us to understand, it only requires us to believe.
The next best thing to do is to hand everything to Him, acknowledge Him. Invite Him into the meeting room of our heart. Let Him sit in as the chairman. Let Him take charge and be in control. Let Him make the decision. I am sure He will make all our paths straight – prosperous and successful, amen.
