Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. Proverbs 3:9-10

One of the greatest concerns about giving is if we give, we would not have enough. But nothing is further than the truth. THE TRUTH IS THE REASON WE DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH IS BECAUSE WE DO NOT GIVE. This is one of the most important principles that we must learn in our Christian living. God himself live by this example. He gave his one and only son, Jesus Christ.

The world extends its hands to grasp; to take and to accumulate but those who are wise gave. As what Jesus said, it is more blessed to give to receive. Let us give willingly and cheerfully without any grudges.

When we give, give the best. Never keep the best for ourselves and give away the leftover. Give what’s best to others especially to God. Take for example, do you give a used second hand product to your wife or girlfriend. No! You give them the best. Similarly, give to God the best of your time, energy, life and wealth. Do not be too calculative with God. Do not wait until you are too old, not much time left and no more energy, then only you are thinking of serving God!

The good news about giving is when you give, God will bless you back. Believe me, He will fill your barns to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine. Also in Malachi 3: 10, God said, bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, test me in this and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Do you want to enjoy such an abundant blessings pouring from heaven? It is a privilege and joy to give!

What do you think is the greatest hindrance in giving?

I believe the greatest hindrance to giving is that we don’t understand God’s economics. God subtraction is really addition. Meaning, when you subtract from your account for the glory of God, you are really adding to it. Not that you are adding, but God will do the adding. Remember, we can’t beat God’s giving.
