Proverbs 6:16-19
Our goal as a Christian is to be the salt and light of this world. Let us influence others with our words and actions. And as a Christian, many a time we are the “highlight”. People often set a higher standard for us. People want to see how we conduct our life and how we re-act to a given situation. Well, I can understand the “pressure” as I experienced it before.
But one important principle which we must hold closely in order to live right is to hate what the Lord hates. Let this be our way our life. And I believe it will earn great respect from others. So what are the things that the Lord hates?
1) Haughty eyes
2) Lying tongue
3) Hands that shed innocent blood
4) A heart that devises wicked schemes
5) Feet that are quick to rush into evil
6) A false witness who pours out lies
7) A man who stirs up dissension among brothers
Nobody likes to associate with someone who is proud, dishonest or wicked. Everyone likes to be around those who are sincere, honest and righteous. If we conduct ourselves in the right manner, we can influence and leave a mark in their lives. Let us not lose our light and saltiness. Let us be an impact to others simply by living right. With this, we are able to win them for Christ.
