Pray that the voice of the people would eventually be heard and that there would be political and religious freedom and justice in Myanmar. Pray that Christians would be able to stay faithful to God as they are persecuted and have courage to share their love of God with others. Pray for peace, prosperity and harmony in that country.
In the recent delevopment, soldiers and police fired into crowds of demonstrators in Myanmar’s largest city and gave them 10 minutes to clear the streets or be shot, with nine people killed in the second day of crackdown on the largest uprising in 20 years.
These demonstrations were led by the Burmese Buddhist monks. Now, the Myanmar’s military government has raided Buddhist monasteries and hauled away monks. Soldiers are clearing protesters off the streets. Facing international condemnation, the government appears to have cut off public access to the Internet, through which much of the news about the crackdown reached the rest of the world.
The country of Myanmar has hardly known any peace since the Japanese invaded in 1942. Ethnic tension between the Burman majority and the Karen, the Shan and others led to bitter wars. Each region wanted to have independence, but a repressive military government refused to bend.
Eventually elections were held in 1988 to oppose the military powers, but when 85% voted against them the regime refused to hand over power.
Myanmar has been turned into a prison where there are widespread human rights abuses, murders, imprisonment and forced labour all used to repress everyone who opposes the people in charge. The military regime actively promotes Buddhism and there is much discrimination against Christians.

To the people of Myanmar who fights & longs to be freed through seeking your TRUTH, I pray that God, please grant them enormous strength, great boldness, extraordinary faith, divine wisdom & protection as they face with extreme persecution. And when the NATION of Myanmar comes together to seek your TRUTH, your word says in John 8:32 that ~ “Your TRUTH will set them FREE”.
