Endure hardship with us like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer. Similarly, if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not receive the victor’s crown unless he competes according to the rules. The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this. 2 Timothy 2:3-7 (more…)

The above title is taken from Matthew 6:27. Spend some time to ponder about it, who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life. Indeed, worrying will not help; this is something that we know but often we are still caught doing it. Some tend to worry over small little thing in their life. And every time they worry about something, it never gets smaller but instead it blows the problem out of proportion. Indeed, it is very self defeating and a waste of time! (more…)

Do you feel like your life and schedule are out of control? You have a lot of works to do in the office; month end performance review is coming; many deadlines to meet! You do not have enough time. 1) Every place that his feet step, He will give it to him (v3)
2) No man shall be able to stand again you (v5)
3) I will be with you, I will never leave you nor forsake you (v5)

Let me share to you a story about a man and the flood. Once there was a heavy downpour and there was this man living at his house. His neighbor came and called him to pack his bag and leave because the heavy downpour with turn into terrible flood. But he refused to leave thinking that God will come save him. (more…)

About 2 weeks after my father’s death, one more incident happened. There was one particular sister creating some trouble. She was beating someone else. When I said beating, it really means beating! So I tried to stop her but without any warning, she threw a hard punch on my face and my spectacle flew out. (more…)

Somewhere in Mar 1999, I decided to purchase a car. It’s very convenient and I can be more effective in the ministry. So I went to enrolled myself in the driving lesson. After 2 months of attending the practical lesson, I decided to take the test. I went for the theory test first. Out of 50 questions, I made only 2 mistakes, not too bad, ya! So I continue with the practical test. (more…)

In September 1999, I received the news that I got retrenched. What? I got retrenched. It was really a shock of my life! I am the sole bread winner of the house. I have to take care of the home. I have to pay monthly water, electricity and phone bills. I have to take care of my mum. I got to support my brother who is still studying in the university. How can this happen to me? I am lost! At the end of November 1999, I attended a Christian Prayer Conference in East Malaysia for about 1 week. Not too long after I came back from the conference I was having a very high fever; about 40 degree Celsius. I went to the clinic; took some medicine but the fever did not subside. One the second day I went to the hospital for check up. The doctor diagnosed that I contracted dengue fever. (more…)
